New Series Start October 13, 2013
This Sunday we will begin two new sermon series.
In our morning worship we will be taking a look at the book of 1 Corinthians to discover aspects of Spiritual Life that effect Christians and the church:
Our evening services will be the follow-up to our original study of the book of Acts. This second series from Acts will focus on the missionary journeys of Saul/Paul:

Observe the Lord's Supper
Baptists observe two ordinances--Baptism and the Lord's Supper. This week at FBC Mulberry Grove, we celebrated the second of these two ordinances. Rather than tack the observance onto one end of our service or the other (as we often do, making it seem like an afterthought), we centered our entire worship around the Lord's Table. You may join us if you like:
Take just a few moments to examine your own life before continuing.
It is at this moment that (if you are observing the ordinance with us) you will want to receive the bread which represents the Body of Christ.
Now is the time to take the cup. And what follows is a call for response to any who have joined in this worship experience--because whenever we come into God's presence for worship, He speaks to us. Will you respond?

Be a Mountain-Top Believer
Matthew records a collection of Jesus' teachings in chapters 5-7 of his Gospel record. These teachings are known as "The Sermon on the Mount." Our new series will take portions of these chapters to see what it takes to Be a Mountain-Top Believer.

Pray Like You Mean It
With the record of the Model Prayer (aka The Lord's Prayer) found in Matthew (6:5-15) as our inspiration, during the month of April we will take a close look at prayer. In order to make personal prayer more meaningful we will use the acronym ACTS as our pattern studying one point of the outline each week.

God's Love Is Expressive
[Please note that I make some pointed statements about Calvinism in this sermon. I do not intend by the statements to vilify the theology itself nor anyone who is part of the movement. I find some of the teachings in the "Reformed" strain of Christian thought to be very compelling. At the same time, I am reticent to jump into the Calvinist pool on the deep end. I'd just as soon wade in the shallows as I learn more from the Master.]

Back to Basics (Church Life)
With this in mind I have identified four basics for church life that we should remind ourselves and begin to apply to our Christian walk. This way we can grow in our walk during 2013 and our church can be more Christlike along the way.
